Over 520hp Tipped for Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350
Created to directly rival the 505 hp Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is the most track-oriented Mustang variant ever produced. Despite being unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show late last year however, the American marque has yet to confirm just how much power its 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 delivers.
Well now we are a little bit closer to knowing just how much power Ford has managed to extract with Shelby brand manager Jim Owens revealing that the new V8 produces over 100 hp per litre meaning over 520 hp is on the cards. Unfortunately, the levels of torque remain a mystery at this point but Owens also announced that the engine will feature a high redline of 8250 rpm. Whatever the final figures are, the 5.2-litre V8 is the most powerful naturally aspirated Ford production engine ever created.
As you would expect, power is then sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. A tweaked Torsen limited-slip differential is also utilised. To help bring the mighty new GT350 to a stop, the car utilises six-piston Brake calipers at the front clamping down on 394 mm two-piece cross-drilled iron brake discs. At the rear, four-piston Brembos are found alongside 380 mm discs. Another important aspect of the 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is its MagneRide dampers.
