After being installed on the Mondeo, the new block will be soon available in Europe on both carriers.
Ford equips S-Max and Galaxy's new EcoBoost engine 1.6, after having already provided the Mondeo range. This unit develops 160 hp with a torque of 240Nm. Under the label EcoBoost, the engine of direct injection, a turbocharger and accompanied such a system EcoMode to allow drivers to consume less. On average, the S-Max a fuel consumption of 7l/100 with this block. Ford plans to introduce further changes in the range in 2011 with the arrival of two new engines, a 200hp 2.2 block with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 1.6 engine with 115hp from the Start & Stop system.
