USA: VW Golf R will be produced in 2012

it was confirmed this Thursday (9) production and sales of the Volkswagen Golf R in the United States in 2012. As reported in several sites, the model received no specific date for launch, however, there is confirmation that units will be limited and its manufacture will occur for a short time.
Unlike the VR6 model, sold in Europe and USA, which had a 3.2 V6 engine with 240 horsepower and all wheel drive, the Golf has won a £ 2.0 turbo propeller. The European version, which is already for sale, produces 270 bhp and 35.6 lb.-ft. of torque, driven by the system of 4Motion all-wheel drive, making the Golf R a direct competitor to the Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
