The mid-term facelift of the Ford Mustang was unveiled for the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. This little facelift for the entire Mustang range be it cut, convertibles, GT, Shelby GT 500 and Boss 302 (Laguna Seca as well). Ford changes its cover incorporating a more gaping grille than the one installed in 2010 and redesigned optics illuminates the LED either on the rear as in front. The work of restyling is more evident on the tail lights Ford darkens as the three small blocks and embedded its legendary light diodes in a typical vintage black band.

On the Boss 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca, Ford wanted to stress its restyled a bit more panache. A reflective strip-shaped hockey stick covers the blank painted for the occasion, a yellow "school bus". The color and pattern are reflecting a recovery of direct aesthetic Mustang involved in Trans-Am in 1970. Mechanically, the 5.0-liter V8 provides 444 horsepower versions of the Boss 302 and 420 horsepower on just restyled Mustang.
