Fine threatens Pope Benedict XVI. During his visit to Germany in September, the pope traveled in his Papamobil without a seatbelt, according to a German who wished to remain anonymous.
A citizen of Dortmund has filed a complaint in court against the Pope, stating that Benedict XVI ignored safety rules of the road, which threatens both his and the lives of all citizens who had gathered to watch.
The case is moving from a law firm that states that Benedict XVI is traveling without a belt more than an hour during his visit to Freiburg.
Not yet known whether Benedict XVI will be treated as a regular German citizen or as head of the Vatican immunity.
If the pope is found guilty it threatens a fine up to 2,500 euros.
