2012 Hyundai Elantra GT - This is the name of new i30 Officialy launched in the US







Hyundai officially launches North American Auto Show in Chicago the new Hyundai Elantra GT. The model is the American version of the new i30 and Europe will compete with the Ford Focus, Mazda3 and Volkswagen Golf.

The Elantra GT is equipped with the 1.8 engine that delivers 148 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and has 18.1 kgf / m of torque. The model can be automatic or manual transmission, both six-speed. Consumption reported is 11.9 km / l in the urban cycle and 16.58 km / l on road use.

Hyundai has released the new model has more space for passengers and cargo volume than the competing Ford Focus, Mazda3, VW Golf. The Elantra GT has the new ACTIVE ECO system that softens the throttle response in exchange for a savings of up to 7%.

The 1.8 engine that equips the Elantra GT also features technologies such as length of continuously variable valve timing (D-CVVT), variable induction system (VIS), Hydraulic Lash Adjusters (HLA) and electronic throttle. The model is equipped with alloy wheels rim 17 " and different from our old i30, the manufacturer has taken the traditional torsion beam rear suspension.
