President Barack Obama has offered a break in Saturday's NATO summit in Lisbon to promote the merits of the new hybrid electric car from General Motors , which should reach the European market the next year.
The U.S. automaker has made a triumphant return Thursday on Wall Street less than a year and half his bankruptcy and his controversial rescue by the government.
Obama, who has assured his country's taxpayers that they would be reimbursed for aid (50 billion dollars) paid by the state, has become responsible for selling Opel model Ampera in the convention center in margins of the Atlantic Alliance.
Calling Ampera an example of GM technology, Obama said: "This is the future. It is a car manufactured in the United States," he said after inspecting the vehicle. "We will start selling in Europe," he added.
