Only a few months, Opel will be offering a new third-generation Zafira.
Already know that this will be a big car, more modern and better design than the former. Interestingly, Opel will maintain current production version now with the
new Zafira as the Astra and Astra Classic.
The new Zafira will be a thing of the versions Tourer, (wagon), the Astra and Insignia (Sports Tourer). World premiere of the new generation of Zafira is waiting at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall, as sales will begin in early 2012.
Once the smaller Meriva MPV model already has a length of 4290 mm, the new generation Zafira is also growing, the current length of 4470 mm up to 4670 mm.
This will be done by Zafira one of the biggest MPV models on the market, will be larger than the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso or Renault Grand Scénic. Thus the new Zafira to occur within the larger Ford Galaxy and VW Sharan. Larger size, however, increase the weight of the new generation of approximately 100 kg.
The appearance of the vehicle will maintain the proportions of the current generation, but fully adapt to the style of the latest models.
Design is in the style of Amper, especially in the front grille and a distinctive headlights. The same goes for the layout of the rear of the MPV model. The two rear doors Zafira remains conventional, the system will be characterized FlexDoors only Meriva. Opel will not follow and Mazda or Ford, which in their models offer rear sliding doors.
The interior offers Flex7 system with seven seats, five of them can be folded to form a flat floor. In the latest generation space in the interior will be even greater.
In technical terms the new Zafira will be presented with known technologies and systems from the latest models of the brand, while fully adaptive headlights AFL + or camera can recognize signs with speed limit. Seats will be anatomical driver and front passenger (AGR), adjustable shock absorbers will FlexRide.
The engines will copy those known from Astra. Petrol will be 1.4 T (88 kW, 200 Nm), 1.4 T (103 kW, 200 Nm) and 1.6 T (132 kW, 230 Nm), there will be brand versions working with gas (LPG and CNG). Three new gasoline engines will replace the current 1.6 Ecotec (85 kW, 155 Nm), 1.8 Ecotec (103 kW, 175 Nm) and 2.2 Direct Ecotec (110 kW, 215 Nm).
Turbodiesel engines will be produced by the modernized 1.7 CDTi (81 kW, 260 Nm), 1.7 CDTi (92 kW, 280 Nm) and 2,0 CDTi (118 kW, 350 Nm). Pri1.4 T and 1.7 CDTi prepares system start-stop, which will reduce the combined average fuel consumption.
