The Volkswagen Golf 2009 is the safest car of all cars tested by Euro NCAP testing organization had. This is followed by the Honda Insight. Ranked number 3 with the Toyota Prius, another hybrid vehicle.
The Top 5 completes the Hyundai i20 and a par of Toyota Avensis, Volvo XC60 and the Opel / Vauxhall Astra. Fared the worst with a rating of three stars of the Suzuki Alto, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser.

A total of 33 different model went through last year, the Euro NCAP crash test procedures. It will be tightened again this year. They must continue for a maximum 5-star rating for at least 80 percent of the points in the inmates and 75 percent are made in child protection. They are each 5 percentage points more than before. The rate for pedestrian protection will be increased to 40 percent. Initial results after the new procedures will be announced in early March 2010.
