Jim Heselden was testing the most extreme version of the Segway in the vicinity of his farm in North Yorkshire, when for reasons still unknown plunged off a cliff, falling into the River Wharfe. According to a police spokesman, it was alerted to the 11:40 am in the presence of a man in the river, which seemed to have fallen from the cliff.
