Caterham Project V: The Electric Sports Car That Breaks Every Expectation

2013 Dodge Dart first more details and more full live photos

Having known some details from the outside, Dodge published the first pictures of the interior, while promising a compact sedan more modern, safe and "customizable" in the world. The name was a complete surprise, since it is speculated that could be called Hornet or Neon, the latter more strongly because its passage through the brand was good overall for the small sedan. While not spectacular, scored good points for design, management, sports (in the case of the SRT4 version) and to mechanical reliability. Still, Chrysler's market gurus were much further down the timeline and revived most legendary name: Dart. Certainly does not sound as familiar as Neon for younger drivers, but with more than three and a half million Dart manufactured between 1960 and 1976 in the U.S. (and even 80's in Mexico), is a legend for connoisseurs of the world muscle- car. Well, the 2013 Dart promises plenty of everything: technology, safety, handling and, above all, customization. The latter can be seen in the images, which show a multimedia board with two screens. The first is the instrument, which can "play" with the location and colors of the indicators, among others. In addition, the board includes well-known center screen 8.4 "we met in the Journey, from which you can handle things like the browser, audio, climate and so on. The interior ambient light will also change color.

They may choose from 12 exterior colors and 14 combinations of color and interior finishes. There will be six different wheels, three engines and three transmissions to choose from. Although not official yet, the engines will be a 1.4-liter turbo (origin Fiat), and a pair of 2.0-aspirated engines and 2.4-liter, rated at 135, 150 and 175 HP respectively. The first will be offered with a brand new nine-speed automatic gearbox, while the two air may carry robotized manual gearbox or dual clutch six-speed two. It is worth remembering that Dart uses the platform of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, so in theory should have a more European than American management. In terms of safety, standard elements have like 10 airbags-yes, ten-, ABS and traction control and stability and that can optionally install systems such as warning and lane departure blind spot monitor . Hopefully well get to our market, provided that Dodge decided not to follow the footsteps of other carmakers regrettable that in the search for greater profit margin, "undress" the models and the case left frontal air bags and ABS.
