Geneva Motor Show 2012 Porsche Boxster shows its world premiere
Porsche presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the world premiere of the new generation Boxster and the European premieres of the Panamera and the 911 GTS. The technical highlight of the new Boxster generation is significantly lower weight due to lightweight chassis and the completely revised chassis.
The wheelbase of the mid-engine roadster has grown, the wider track and larger wheels. Porsche has thus not only increased the driving dynamics significantly and guarantees pure driving fun, the new Boxster is also 15 percent more fuel efficient. Thanks fundamentally altered styling with a shorter body overhangs, significantly offset to the front windscreen, flatter silhouette edges and expressive, the Roadster is more muscular and distinctive on the road. The interior offers more space and the interior design reflects the new Porsche-line against the rising center console.
In addition, the 911 Cabriolet Porsche shows for the first time before European trade fair audience. Intelligent lightweight construction including the use of magnesium in the roof design provides for less weight and more sportiness, for less fuel consumption and greater comfort. With the innovative roof concept also typical 911-roof contour is first received in full.
