BMW has unveiled the new generations of the M6 Coupe and M6 Convertible, which are set to make their official premiere in a few days at the Geneva show. The vehicles come equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 engine generating 560 horsepower and a maximum torque of 680Nm. Paired with a seven-speed M-Double Clutch Transmission and a rear differential featuring variable locking, the models can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 and 4.3 seconds for the coupe and cabriolet, respectively. The maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h, but the M Driver's package can unlock it and allow it to reach 305 km/h.
The new M6 Coupe and M6 Convertible are much more fuel-efficient than their predecessors, boasting up to 30% reduction in fuel consumption thanks to start/stop technology, brake energy regeneration, and other Efficient Dynamics technologies. As a result, the average fuel consumption is 9.9l/100km for the coupe and 10.3l/100km for the convertible.
In terms of appearance, the M-models are differentiated from the standard model by more aggressive bumpers and side sills, as well as lightweight elements made of carbon, fiberglass, and aluminum, reducing the weight to 1,850 kg in the M6 Coupe and 1,980 kg in the M6 Convertible. The vehicles also feature new design rims, with the largest size being 20 inches, and a carbon-ceramic brake system can be ordered from them. The models come with a modified suspension that lowers the ground clearance by 30 mm and improves stability.
