Toyota Hilux Champ Rangga SUV: A Budget-Friendly 7-Seater Transformation

The Toyota Hilux Rangga is making waves with its transformation from a rugged pickup to a family-friendly SUV. Set to launch in early 2025, this three-row, seven-seater SUV is designed with budget-conscious buyers in mind. Retaining the trusted front design of the Hilux pickup, the Rangga SUV gets a complete overhaul from the B-pillar back, featuring a taller roof, roof rails, a large tailgate with "Rangga" lettering, and a rugged design enhanced by unpainted cladding and black alloy wheels. Powered by either a 2.0L gasoline engine (137 hp) or a 2.4L turbodiesel (148 hp), and paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, the Rangga offers both power and practicality. Built on the proven IMV ladder-frame chassis, it combines durability with affordability. Starting at just under $25,000, the Rangga SUV is a game-changer in its segment, significantly cheaper than the Fortuner but offering similar utility. Will it expand beyond Indonesia? Only time will tell! Stay tuned as we dive into the details of this exciting new model and what it could mean for Toyota’s SUV lineup.
